A goal is a great thing. Goals solve problems.
The Problem
I can’t do anything about the 17 people who were tragically killed in Parkland, Florida recently.
Also, I can’t do anything about changing the gun control laws in our country except write my congressmen which I’m going to do.
Finally, I can’t do anything to stop the next tragic shooting like this from happening (lets pray it doesn’t) because I don’t know who, when, how, or where it will occur.
A Solution
But I CAN do something in the meantime—in honor of the 17 lives lost—to show unsuspecting students at various schools more love and admiration, which is what they deserve.
So that’s what I’m going to do! And–I invite you to join me in the cause…
Consequently, 
was formed with the following initial goal in mind:
- Visit 17 schools this year (from pre-schools to universities.)
- Give away 17 gift bags randomly to students (as well as some faculty) at those schools.
- Each gift bag will contain 17 popular gift cards, (McDonalds, iTunes, Cheesecake Factory, Amazon, AMC Theaters, Wendy’s, etc.)
- Each gift card will have $17 pre-loaded onto it.
- Randomly selected students will receive the gift bags in group assemblies or in individual classrooms. A random number generator on our phones selects the winners.
- The total value of each gift bag is $289 (17 gift cards x $17 each).
- It costs $4,913 per school (17 students get 17 cards at $17 each).
- It costs $83,521 to visit all 17 schools.
- Ideally, we’d love to give one $17 gift card to every kid in the school, plus give out the 17 gift bags. However, we’ll take this one step at a time and see what happens.
